Two options about the Pentax DSLR that I almost forget to mention
Two of the most important components of the New Pentax K7 DSLR is the incredible weather-proofing, and that capacity for HD Video Capture. I have probably not mentioned a lot about either function in earlier articles because I’m not actually that much of a video photographer and I certainly do not do expeditions to the Arctic or something like that, but perhaps I missed them as a result of I never use these functions. How inconsiderate of me, I apologise! Sorry I am so ordinary.
Anyway. Here is my take.
The Pentax K7 like the K20D, presents what can realistically be described as exceptional wind water and temperature-proofing, in contrast to the D90 which does not have any and the Canon 50D which has water proofing which is ineffective.

With the K7, even your budget equipment lenses such as your 18-55 standard range and 50-200 tele lens can be correctly wind water and temperature-sealed with Pentax’s advanced weather proofing system, this means that you can even use it in close to arctic conditions, as it will perform down at 14 degrees fahrenheit (-10C), compared to just 32F/0C with other supposedly “weather-sealed” cameras on the market.
Even cameras like Canon’s 1Ds and Nikon’s D3 are nowhere close to the K7 in terms of this degree of functionality. This means of course that it is a really perfect camera in the extra extreme travel circumstances, when even essentially the most rugged “pro” cameras can usually experience high failure rates.
Not so with the Pentax K7. It’s up for almost anything.
Not only that, but as I already talked about earlier, it will additionally do an awesome job of video for you under those situations too, which is a very awesome feature. The K7 beats out just about every single one of it’s competitors within the midrange market section of the DSLR market, although the others as usual will try to play catch up, as all of the copy cats get in on the Pentax’s action.
Pentax appears to be doing video more effectively than everyone else and that’s past argument. The K7 supports your customary 1280×720p, 30fps HD, and includes a jack for an exterior microphone which you will not get with any of the lower-end video-capable DSLRs.
By the way this means you could have top quality sound in stereo if you want. Brilliantly, the K7 utilizes the complete area of the sensor and gives a 1536×1024, giving 3:2 ratio mode , instead of wasting a sixth of your frame size like every other digital does when shooting a 16:9 video.
Well done to the Pentax K7 designers for thinking ahead of the curve.
Another nice characteristic in video mode is the K7′s sensor-based mostly image stabilization system, which makes the Pentax K7 DSLR a digicam that will give you great results. This can at all times assist guys like me who possibly have shaking hands that come as standard. I have to say since beginning to use the Pentax K7 DSLR, I’ve certainly seen a big difference. You’ll notice it with the reduction of the volume of snaps you will be deleting after a session. That’s where it actually matters.
