Can I fit 120 film into my argoflex seventy-five camera that uses 620 film?
I recently bought an argoflex seventy-five at a curiosity shop for 5 bucks. I knew it took 620 film, but i figure i could find a way to fit other types of film on it (I’ve done it with other cameras i own) but it appears the only way to do it is to either respool 120 onto a 620 spool, which i dont want to do because i dont want to have to go out and find some other 620 spools, as well as the fact that in my film loading room, i’m lucky if i can load my film in order to develop it without having a few minor incidents. I also found that they said you could trim 120 film to fit in the camera, which i’m all for except that they said it only works on some cameras, and i dont know if it will work on mine. So a) will trimmed 120 film work for this camera and b) if not, what other options are there?
As you know, the spools are different. I think you’re stuck respooling, unless someone has a creative workaround. I’ve always respooled 120 film on to my 620 spools in the past. Unfortunately, I’ve misplaced my 620 spools 30 years ago. See if you can find someone willing to part with their 620 spools on Craig’s list.
To reduce the chance of mishaps, cut some paper to the width of the spool and practice respooling.
